The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to consider expanding the number of delegates who will vote during subsequent congresses.
This is to accommodate the increase in the party’s membership.
Ahead of the NDC’s national delegates’ congress on Saturday, December 20, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) is scheduled to meet to discuss pertinent issues.

The meeting is to also enable the NEC round up its tenure with a final meeting on December 19.
Key on the agenda of the NEC meeting will be proposals to expand the size of delegates at its national congresses as part of its constitutional review.
The party’s Director of Communications, James Asante in an interview with Citi News ahead of the NEC meeting said there will be considerations of creating an Elections Directorate to organize and manage the party’s internal elections.
“NEC is meeting on Friday to consider a number of issues and we are also thinking about instituting youth and women conferences,” he said.
“If a resolution is reached, the NEC will then see how best we can incorporate them in our constitution because we think that they are important issues that we need to consider,” said Mr. Asante.
He stressed that the NDC is growing is numbers at a rapid rate therefore it is important to strategize for future activities.
