HIV confusion: It will be difficult to press charges against Dzidzor – Lawyer

The Ghana AIDS Commission will question its former ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah over the controversy surrounding her status.

Dzidzor who served as HIV ambassador for many years has confessed that she falsified her status.

But the AIDS Commission insists she tested positive for the virus in 2007. It has served notice it will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, private legal practitioner, Yaw Oppong has told STARR NEWS it will be difficult to press criminal charges against Dzidzor as is being advocated by some Ghanaians.

He said people pushing for charges against her must first prove she had the intention to defraud the public.

“Did she have the intention to defraud or deceive?”.

“And if she had the intention to defraud, what did she achieve by that, was it to earn an advantage which she could not otherwise have earned?“ he enquired.
