Controversial Nollywood actress and musician, Tonto Dikeh has disclosed that she is dating.
Over the years, the outspoken actress has been one entertainment personality who has always kept her relationship status close to her chest.
The disclosure will put to rest conflicting reports of her relationship status. In 2012, the actress was forced to publicly refute reports that she was dating Nigerian musician, Iyanya.
Tonto Dikeh revealed in an exclusive interview with Myjoyonline.com that she has finally found her ideal man but stopped short of revealing his identity.
According to her, “I have a lovely man in my life and that’s about what I can say…I want to respect him and not talk about him but he is a very lovely man,” she said beaming with smiles.
Attempts to get the actress to reveal when she will be walking down the aisle proved futile.
Tonto Dikeh was in Ghana over the weekend for some charity work. Dubbed the Ghana Charity Tour, the initiative is powered by her Tonto Dikeh Foundation to give back to society.
Asked the inspiration behind the charity work, she said: “I’m trying to make it cut across all the African countries and what better way to start the Christmas celebration than trying to give back to society, go back to motherless babies, go to hospitals see the sick, know how I can help them [pay] hospitals bills, scholarships and everything. Basically we are just trying to give love back to people who deserve love and who don’t have people to love them back.”
According to her, she has been doing it for about five years now “but this is the first time I just decided to come out and do it publicly because… I’ve gotten the avenue to help as much people… the goal and the essence is actually to reach people…”
She said she has spent “well over 10 million Naira [about GHc178, 000] on our foundation for the past five years.” The charity tour in Ghana took her to several orphanages in the country including, Kibi in the Eastern region and Jay Nii Orphanage Home in Jamestown, Accra.
Known for her persistent controversies, Tonto Dikeh, says sh does is speak her mind and it rather unfortunate that the media have tagged her controversial.
“I don’t think I am [controversial] but the thing is I’m not a very quiet person when you try to throw things in my face, so sometimes I react in a way that can actually be controversial but majorly the whole controversial image was created by the media…,” she said.
