EXCLUSIVE: Hot-cake Baba Rahman not leaving Augsburg in January despite intense interests

Augsburg have ruled out selling Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman during the January transfer window despite keen interests from top European clubs, GHANAsoccernet.com is reliably informed.
The 21-year-old is a subject of intense transfer talk in Germany where he has excelled in the Bundesliga.
Italian giants Roma are expected to present on official bid to Augsburg for the January signing of the left-back.
Another big-name club in Italy is also expected to make their interest official with teams from Spain also queuing up to make offers.
But sources have told GHANAsoccernet.com that Baba Rahma who only joined Augsburg before the start of the season will not be sold in January.
“There is no chance of him [Baba Rahman] leaving in January,” the source told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“There are obvious interest in him but he is not moving at least in January.”
Rahman’s market value has over trebled from the over 3m Euros who was signed for from Greuther Furth in August.
This value is likely to soar even higher once he excels at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations if he makes the Black Stars squad.
This is the main reason why his suitors are desperate to get a deal in place by January.
But Augsburg are playing smart knowing very well they stand to gain more by holding onto the player at least until the end of the season.
Rahman will thus likely make the switch at the end of the season but that will largely depend on whether Augsburg will be willing to sell especially if they are able to maintain their relative good form and finish in a Champions League spot.
